Lake Champlain PHRF Meeting Minutes                                                     Date: 11/3/04

 

Meeting Notes

Present:            Marty Olsen, Gene Cloutier, Brian Dowling, Chris Duley, Tom Morley, John Pylak

 

Meeting Called to Order at 7:05

 

  • John Pylak requested that the Omnium be included in LCPHRF and that he act as the Omnium representative. 
    • Gene made a motion to admit the Omnium
    • Chris seconded the motion
      • Discussion included questions regarding how LCPHRF would handle the large number of PHRF applications we might face. 
        • Can we integrate the Omnium into LCPHRF Championship?
        • John will develop a plan and proposal to present to the committee on how to integrate and include the regatta.
    • For Motion: Unanimous
    • Against Motion: None
  • Election of LCPHRF officers for the 2005 season.
    • Nominations
      • Marty Olsen- Chairman
      • Gene Cloutier & Chris Duley- Vice Chair
      • Marty Olsen- Secretary
        • Gene declined the nomination; felt Chris would add to board with representation from the New York side of the lake.
    • Motion to Elect Nominated Members
    • Accept- Unanimous
    • Opposed- None
  • Chris brought up the fact that much of what LCPHRF does appears to most to be a secret society that hides what it does.  There was general agreement that we need to change this.
    • Items needed
      • When reviewing boats as part of either annual review or a protest, we need to contact all effected boat owners.
      • We need to develop a PHRF website-Marty will contact Mark Gardner to develop the site.
      • We will post the Minutes and agendas on the website.
      • We need to be proactive about charges to the operation of the committee.
      • During the next several weeks we will work on site development.
  • Winter 2004&2005 Boats for Review
    • LCPHRF will review the following boats. Committee members will gather info and present during the next several meetings.

    • We need empirical data, member input, and cross analysis between boats within the fleets.
    • We need to check the website info against the PHRF ratings used by clubs.  Marty will get in touch with Al Ouellette and Bette Reuter to check info.
  • The next meeting to be held in Plattsburgh on December 13th at 7:00 or 7:30.  Date and time to be confirmed via email.
